In this three-hour workshop, I will teach you washes and techniques to loosely interpret a warm, welcoming front door in watercolor. You can bring your own home reference or use the one I provide. I will guide you through the process with demos and time for questions while you practice the techniques. You will have time to complete your own watercolor home portrait. Your experience will equip you to move forward with watercolors, giving you more confidence to paint on your own or in future classes.

🖌️ No experience required. All levels are welcome. Come as you are with curiosity and a desire to learn more about the wonderful medium of watercolors. 🌈

🖼️ What you will learn:

🔹 How to create texture to interpret brick, stone, landscaping, and more
🔹 How to loosen up for a light and free painting
🔹 Washes and techniques to build your watercolor skills

📋 Recommended supplies (available through my supply store or your own art supply resource):

📄 Professional grade watercolor paper (I use 140# Arches cold press, 3 sheets, approximately 8" x 10")
🖌️ Round watercolor brushes (Sizes 8 and 14, or anything close to these)
🖌️ 3/4" flat watercolor brush
🖌️ Detail watercolor brush (optional)
🎨 Watercolor paints
📏 Masking tape
🖼️ Foam board, acrylic board, gator board, cutting board, or sheet of stiff plastic (approximately 9" x 11")
