Hey there! I'm excited to invite you to join me for my Beginner Tree Watercolor Class! Together, we'll explore the wonderful world of painting trees in watercolor, from the basic techniques to creating captivating landscapes. Let's dive in!
Part One: Getting Started 🖌️ Let's talk about the supplies you'll need and why each one is essential. 🎨 I'll show you how to set up your paints, brushes, and water for the best results. 🖌️ Any colors will do! In this lesson, we'll focus on shapes, value, and brush strokes. 🎨 I'll teach you how to hold a brush like a pro. 🖌️ We'll work on avoiding symmetry and adding variety to your trees. 🎨 Learn the art of lifting out to create realistic tree trunks and branches. 🖌️ Discover threading or weaving strokes to add depth and dimension to your branches. 🎨 Understand the difference and importance of soft and hard edges in your painting.
Part Two: Painting "Interesting" Trees 🌳 Let's paint some interesting trees! I'll show you how to find and use real-life tree references. 🖼️ We'll learn how to recreate watercolor trees from photos, focusing on shapes rather than details. 🌳 Dive into creating texture to represent bark and give your trees character. 🖼️ Explore the importance of transparency in your painting to achieve realistic results. 🌳 Discover the magic of lifting out highlights to create the illusion of branches coming forward.
